Thread: Something I never got about Cait Sith (spoilers)

The ones I hate are when people say "Aeris can be revived this is how you do it..."

I did love the one in the VI forum where someone said there was a way to get Leo back and then everyone was saying he was wrong when someone pointed out that his location was Zozo and how everybody lies in that town. That was awesome.

MJN SEIFER, I have to admit that at first, I had some serious doubts about your theory. However, I just played that section again (finally got FF7 working all hunky dory on my PC again ), and I have to say, it makes a lot of sense. There is a small moment when you first meet up with Cait Sith after the Demon Wall where they say good-bye akwardly, but then there is a drastic change in tone when he tells Aeris's fortune. His first fortune (told when he was asked about Sephiroth, if you ignore the two fortune cookie remarks) said that the party would find what they sought, but lose something dear. That was probably all he got, because he was asking about Sephy. In the second fortune, he was being asked about Aeris specifically, and as soon as he reads it, he starts acting a lot more somber. He then "reads" it to the party, but he is the only one who actually sees it. Was it a fake fortune? It's possible. As soon as he gets out of sight of the party his cheerfullness seems to evaporate and he starts to reflect on his own mortality.

Truly an intriguing theory, and thank you for submitting it. I'm not sure it's what was actually happening, but it has given me a lot of food for thought.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.

He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.

    In Crisis Core:

(SPOILER)Reeve seemed quite emotional with Zack`s death and even before his death. I`d like to think that he has had some thoughts such as "Should I have stopped this? Was it my fault?"

    In Dirge of Cerberus:

(SPOILER)Before the end of the game, there was an incident at Cid`s Highwind; Nero unvanished into the ship and his first spawn location was in the engine room. Particularly why the engine room was used as his spawn location, I`m not exactly sure. But I think that he went there to destory the engine, thus making the ship itself ineffective because he didn`t want the team to reach his beloved brother. Cait Sith tried to stop him in the first place and as a result, he went motionless on the ground. Presumably dead. Cait Sith basically wanted to save the team from Nero.

So, where was Cait Sith originated from? Reeve didn`t like seeing his friends die. I`d say Zack has brought a quite impact on Reeve. As a result, Reeve invented Cait Sith (with the image of his toy at the Honey bee when he was a child.)
His reason for inventing Cait Sith was simply just to save his friends` lives.

He could not have saved Aeris`s life because he knew that it would be impossible. That`s why he tried to make Aeris happy by saying that she and Cloud would be a happy couple. Either way, Cait Sith did a great job; sacrificing himself for the Black Materia.

Reeve wasn't in Crisis Core. You must have him confused with Tseng, or something.

MJN SEIFER that was actually a really good theory that almost seems possibleNext time i playthrough im going to look at this scene closer.

Excellent theory. Whenever you use a potion, a green mist surrounds which is reminiscent of the lifestream. So, Cait Sith being powered by Mako would explain how he is able to be healed by potions and ethers.
how the hell did that new Cait Sith get there so fast!?
There are helicopters in Final Fantasy VII.

Probably figure it's a dude in a moogle suit with a cat on his head or maybe a talking cat like "talking-beast Red XIII" (explaining why they don't find it weird... because they already met ONE DAMN THING that shouldn't be able to talk, why the hell would they bother questioning anything else) riding atop a robotic slot-machine shaped like a moogle.

    Believe it.

I also think the STAR thing wasn't a complete lie. He probably did get a whole compatibility read but misread the information as being Aerith/Cloud when it was actually Aerith/Zack.
