    Default Hiding under the covers...

As of late, I've had a lot of thought about horror in the media. I'm a pretty big fan of it, and one could say I have a fairly high tolerance for fear, even though in my opinion a lot of movies and things like that nowadays are more focused on the gore, and from what I've seen of the Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside (yay, sci-fi channel late night lineups), and other shows of it's ilk, most are for messing with your head. It's all up to perspective which is scarier, but for me it's mostly the latter.

But anyway, the thread topic! What's the one movie, book, show, or whatever in the media, that just absolutely creeped you out or completely frightened you to a point where you were looking behind your back or out the windows or under your beds, or forced you into seclusion under the covers for a short period of time?

While I'm pretty scare-proof, I'd have to say it's tied for me between "Love Hungry" and "Seasons of Belief" from Tales from the Darkside.

Thanks to Sagensyg for the sig!

The Road, which I'm sure others have heard me talk about before.

I had to read it for English class. There's infanticide and cannibalism in the story that really messed with my head while I was reading it.

Ju-on and its sequels and spin-offs scare me most, I think. No one or thing scares me quite like Kayako does!

    =O

Edit: I swear that I just saw Kayako in my closet. I'm scared.

Do games count? If so then Clive Barker's Undying - the only game I'm too scared to play with the lights off.

A documentary about a plane crash. That really freaked me out for some reason. I couldn't have my back to an open door for awhile after that.

    ANYWAY

I don't like watching horror movies with my father because every time he'll go on a rant about how movies aren't so scary these days because they don't make you use your imagination blah blah blah. I'm actually frightened pretty easily by scary movies, in fact almost every horror movie scares me, but it's just not visible xD
