HOW do I make the menu thing on the left go all the way down to the bottom?

fyi, I will use this thread to ask a whole bunch of questions as my problems occurs.

edit: allright rubah helped me get the navigation further down, but not all the way. It's much better than it used to be though xD any tips and such though?
