HELP I don't want to do more work than I need to...
So, I have three papers due this week, which is making me somewhat concerned about things like word count vs. page count. I'm currently writing a paper that has a word limit of 1250 - 1500 words, aka 5-6 pages. However, I'm noticing that my word processor (openoffice) is actually putting a lot more words on each page. Maybe it's my writing style (I'm wordy :P), but I have 360 words per page instead of the "expected" 250. I've checked my margins and my font size and it's all 1 inch and 12 and whatever. Now, this thing isn't a problem for this paper because there's a word limit, but my other papers are all page limits. I don't want to get stuck writing more than I have to! Do any of you know if openoffice (or any other word processors) have a tendency to put more than 250 words on a page, or am I just using a lot of tiny words? When I used wordperfect this wasn't a problem...
