Me and BF seriously hope there's going to be a PS3 bundle. We're going to buy a PS3 when this game comes out.
Apparently it's out in Australia, I wasn't expecting that. I'm going to give it a shot, I actually haven't played a Resident Evil game since the first one![]()
Versus Mode: Capcom Confirms, Prices Versus Mode for Resident Evil 5
Apparantly a multiplayer versus mode is going to be coming in a few weeks as DLC. I'm personally appauled by Capcom that just a few weeks after the release of RE5 they are going to be charging for DLC for a mode that is free in almost every other game released these days. Plus I doubt a versus mode in RE5 will be that spectacular anyway.
Because then Side A can't gloat over Side B not having access to something enjoyable. If it's exclusive to Side A's console they get to feel an undeserved sense of superiority, and really, what would the internet be without a heapin' helping of that going around?
EDIT: Wait, what? So there's like an online Mercenaries Mode and then DM/TDM with up to four whole people?
Good lord that idea sucks, especially given them charging for it. Ugh.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.
That's stupid iyam.
By the way, is there any word about them releasing something or another that makes Mercenary mode playable with others online? It's a very bizarre omission on their part.
Turns out yes for the 360 but no confirmation for the Ps3.

Well I hope you enjoy being milked by Capcom. Until people stop giving in to these publishers this will continue to be a never ending cycle.
Personally, I have no intention to buy this DLC. If its that good then Ill just nab it from a friends PSN. I don't care if its cheap, my principles mean more.
Sorry, but whilst RE1 was fairly epic for its day, anyone who says it was competent in controls and general gameplay is looking back with rose tinted glasses. RE2 and 3 were better in that respect, but still infamously bad. RE4 and 5 ditched the horror, no question about it, but they added a metric ton of fun instead. I had more fun with RE4 than I ever did in any of the prior ones.
RE5 should be arriving for me tomorrow!
I am also dissapointed in the new series take. I agree that they're not as scary anymore with 4, I won't be playing 5 anytime soon, but I just got through looking at an X-pLay review and well Adam seemed a bit too nit-picky since he said it seems a lot like the first, but I am concerned what he said about the partner AI.
I don't like to be frustrated and online co-op might not be an option for me whenever I get a PS3 because it seems it costs way too much just to get the online necesseties and then someone told me that clearwire drops games all the time.
When did I ever say the older RE games didn't have control issues? Sure they had tank like controls, but a little thing called auto aim and focusing on something other than action meant that it didn't really matter.
RE4 on the other hand (and 5 for that matter) had the same tank like controls and a poor targeting system given the action focus. The fact that the laser sight didn't appear on anything other than shootable enemies and objects, combined with the fact that the camera was rarely in the same position over your shoulder every time you tried to aim not only made combat at a distance almost impossible, it was downright unforgivable given that everything was rendered in real time. I shouldn't have to fight the aiming system as much as I fight the enemies in a game. There's a difference between challenging and bad game design and Capcom crossed that line on that one. The sad thing is most people are so willing to put up with half-assed game design as long as the main character is a sterotypical badass and opens a proverbial can on the enemy that I really shouldn't be surprised any more.
Anyone who actually thinks the controls improved in RE4 isn't looking at it through rose coloured glasses; they're probably drunk. Had the focus been less on action like the previous games I probably could have forgiven it's faults, but a bad targeting system and an inability to move while shooting meant that every battle basically followed the formula of spend 10 seconds trying to get the laser sight on an enemy, fire off two or three shots, then stop and runaway because while you were trying to figure out where you were shooting the enemies crossed three quarters of the room and are now right in your face. Lather rinse and repeat for about 15 hours. Not my idea of fun.
No, that just means you're prettyat the game tbh. Most people I know could decimate quite a large number of enemies with even an average weapon. But put it this way: In RE4 I can get headshots. In RE1 it was a matter of sheer luck, having to either fire as you moved between the preset straight ahead and 45 degree up angles, or aiming up and waiting until point blank range.
Who wants to Co-Op together?
I'm on Ch. 3-2.
