    Default VII, VIII and X: what are their classes?

    I don't force jobs in these games, but some of the characters share some characteristics from jobs from he earlier games, but I can't put jobs on some of them. This is what I've thought of so far. Some are given, obviously. I'll write them anyways.

    VII:
    Cloud = Fighter. He carries a sword and the main protagonist is typically a fighter.
    Cid = Dragoon. He has Jump.
    Aerith = White Mage.
    Tifa = Monk
    Yuffie = Thief/ninja
    Red XIII = ???
    Vincent = ???
    Barret = ???
    Cait Sith = ???

    VIII:
    Squall = Fighter. Same reason as Cloud
    Zell = Monk.
    Quistis = Blue Mage
    Rinoa = ???
    Irvine = ???
    Selphie = ???

    X:
    Tidus = Fighter.
    Auron = Samurai
    Lulu = Black Mage
    Yuna = White Mage/Summoner
    Rikku = Thief
    Kimarhi = Dragoon/Blue Mage
    Wakka = Monk?

    Agree or disagree? Discuss.

    This maybe caused by the fact that the Enemy Skill materia is found just when you find Red, or that he's a beast, but Blue Mage?

    Vincent = Gunner/Berserker
    Barret = Gunner
    Irvine = Gunner
    Works for me.

    Cait Sith = Gambler/Beastmaster
    Selphie = Gambler
    I can see where you're coming from, but wouldn't that make Wakka a gambler too?

    Red Mage because he's strong physically and magically (comes equipped with Fire) and has no other discerning features.

    Only in the same way it would make Tifa a Gambler. Wakka's role is determined more by his long range attacks and status abilities than the Overdrive visuals.

    I think most of VIII don't classify under classes since they don't have set paths on how they progress. Anyone can be anything. But if they did I say

    VII
    Cloud= Fighter or Warrior
    Aerith=White Mage
    Tifa=Monk
    Barret=Gunner
    Red XIII= I have no clue
    Yuffie=Thief/Ninja
    Cait Sith=Gambler

    VIII
    Squall=Warrior or Fighter
    Rinoa=Sage
    Quistis=Blue Mage
    Zell=Monk
    Selphie=Gambler
    Irvine=Gunner

    X
    Tidus=Time Warrior
    Yuna=Summoner/White Mage
    Auron=Knight (If Steiner is then Auron is)
    Rikku=Thief/Alchemist/Mime
    Wakka=Gambler
    Lulu= Obvious
    Kimhari= Something/Blue Mage

    Ranger would be a better description for Wakka being as he uses a ball for long range attacks. I wouldn't consider him Green Mage either as he only learns 2 Black Magic spells and the rest of his abilities that cause status effects isn't magic, but skills.

    Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
    Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
    Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
    Fran - "....We could help...."
    Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
    Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
    Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

    I see your point.

    I forgot about Tifa's reels. Another thought that ran through my mind considering Wakka, is that he has the look of a munk, although he doesn't act like one at all. I don't have a point with this, just a thought.
