CT:TBoT/CC OST question...
I have been listening to Chrono Trigger: the Brink of Time and only started Chrono Cross recently and there's something I noticed. There is a part in TBoT's "Chrono Trigger", right after the original main theme finishes there's this solo (on a violin, I believe?) which I think is quite cool. Anyway, I noticed, that the Chrono Cross Home World Map Theme is basically a "Chrono Trigger" remix, but starting with the violin(?)-solo theme (played by some exotic instrument whose name I can't recall here).
Now here's the question.
I wonder which was inspired by which. If any of you guys know, which came out first, please share.

I just listened to both tracks, and I have no idea what you're talking about. The Brink of Time was released about four and a half years before Chrono Cross, though.

Here are the samples:
-Here's the Brink of Time's Version of "Chrono Trigger". The bit I'm talking about starts at 2:25.
-And here's "Fields of Time ~ Home World" from Chrono Cross. The theme from tBoT starts at 0:19.
The tempo is different in each, and the rhythm pattern is a bit altered, but the melody is pretty much the same, don't you think?

Well since both games are related it's not a big coincidence xD and obviously Chrono Trigger's tBoT came first.
And the instrument sounds like a keyboard synthesizer.
Chrono Trigger main theme still the best!

Well, yeah, it is a synthesizer, but I wonder what instrument it's trying to immitate...
(and yay for me! I was right about the violin
)
