What movies do you hate, even though they're held in very high regard?
I think both Caddy Shack and Animal House are terrible movies, blasphemy though it may seem. They just struck me as really base comedy and I never got into them.
Anyone else?

Titanic sucked.
I didn't really enjoy the Kill Bill movies...even liking anime. Maybe it was all the violence.
And I don't like the comedy movies with all the disgusting humor...American Pie, Scarie Movie, ect. I feel like an idiot watching them.
~Ye must desire respite from thy empty existence. Thou shalt have it.~
Highschool Musical.
QFT.
I don't like Spirited Away much, and I outright, violently HATE Moulin Rouge. It is the only time I have ever actually disliked Nicole Kidman, because it is the most despairing failure of a movie I have ever seen and it taints anything involved.
Don't like Umberto D much, but then I'm not a fan of Italian Neo-realism.
I agree about Animal House. I never got why it achieved such status. It's OK for a few laughs, but it's not outright hilarious or in any way sophisticated.
I'm pretty critical of most movies. There's just so much crap out there that panders to the chimpanzee in us all (if you're down with evolution).
This thread reminds me of a Family Guy that was on the other day where the family is about to drown in the "panic room" and Peter brings up his dislike of The Godfather. Everyone gives him an attitude like "That just makes no sense. You can't not like The Godfather..."
I think some movies, achieving an initial popularity, are given sort of a free pass.
Brian: "If I remember correctly, this is the Physics Department."
Chris: "That would explain all the gravity."
Titanic
Brokeback Mountain (I don't have to watch it to know it sucked ass)
Napolean Dynamite
I can't think of anymore right now, but when I do, I will be back.
American Pie x 3. <img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif"><img src="/xxx.gif">e stuff.
Hmm. The Harry Potter movies (the most recent one wasn't so bad though). Maybe next time they should use people who can act!? i.e. ACTORS!? Novel idea!
High School Musical. What the hell is up with this? The songs make me cringe.
My friend Delzethin is currently running a GoFundMe account to pay for some extended medical troubles he's had. He's had chronic issues and lifetime troubles that have really crippled his career opportunities, and he's trying to get enough funding to get back to a stable medical situation. If you like his content, please support his GoFundMe, or even just contribute to his Patreon.
He can really use a hand with this, and any support you can offer is appreciated.
The Aviator.
Without a doubt, the most pathetic piece of crap I've ever had to sit through.
'Boring' just doesn't do it justice.
"As the days go by, we face the increasing inevitability that we are alone in a godless,
uninhabited, hostile and meaningless universe. Still, you've got to laugh, haven't you?"
Hmm, I liked The Aviator.
For me, it's Amelie (so overrated) and Moulin Rouge. I didn't even manage to watch the whole of the latter. It was pants.
