Smurf is not a censor for the four lettered f word.
Rather, the four lettered f word is a shortcut for saying smurf. Because I don't want anyone that's quoting my post see any unintended vulgarities, I type out the entire word. This allows me to show emphasis through capitalization.
So, do you type "Smurf" or do you type the four lettered f word?

Why would you voluntarily censor yourself? You might as well just choose a different word if you're that averse to swearing.
On here due to many many posts and much much getting used to the f word being censored I now instinctively type smurf here. Aside from here I swear like a god damn mother smurfing trooper! Ask Psy he's even admitted my capacity for the baser words in the english language for a man who can write so eloquently is astounding.

I switch between them, but I've become accustomed to replacing the F word with smurf so I type that more often.
I have a Firefox plugin that changes every instance of the Smurf-word to the actual f-word, smurf.

I censor myself away from EoFF because only a handful of people know what I mean, and the rest are instantly curious and want to know what kind of inside joke we have going.
On EoFF, I switch between them because I don't really give aand it will make things interesting if the filter is ever changed.
If I'm going to be curtailed by the censors, then it can censor me but I don't do so voluntarily. Not that I'm terribly vulgar, but y'know.
