    Default Martha Wayne (Batman Begins)

Do you think Bruce's mother-son relationship with Martha was underdeveloped in Batman Begins? I do because it seems like the narrative only focused on fleshing out the father-son relationship and it left the mother-son relationship out in the cold. The new James Bond has a more fleshed out mother and son relationship with M (Judi Dench) than Bruce had with Martha.

I don't remember Bruce having too much of a real development with his mother even in the comic books. His relationship with his father is still happily acceptable to me cause his relationship with his parents has always felt shallow in most of the non-comic book mediums Batman has appeared in. It was refreshing to see his father's influence on the young and impressionable Bruce.

It wasn't developed because it wasn't important to the plot. There's only so much they can fit in a movie.
