Downloading C++

Hey all I'm having a little trouble here on downloading a program that i need for school. It's Microsoft Visual Studios C+++ Edition. I think I had downloaded it because when I came back I received a message saying that the set up is complete. Yet when I click exit I don't see any kind of desktop icon for the program. Did this really download or what?

Coincidentally I installed this very same program today, also for school. Open the start menu, click "All programs" and the program should be there under "Microsoft Visual C++ [version]".
