ok i just recently started playing FF IV and i dont know how to save. I have to quick save which pisses me off, so can anyone please answer my question?

You can save on the main map. Just open the menu while on the main map and the save option will be on the list.

Save points work wonders too.

If you press the A button or the B button on a save point, does it take you directly to the save menu? This is usually the case in newer games to make things more convenient for the player.
