Good guess but no Cigar, your thoughts of the second line are good, it does refer to a few previous Final Fantasy installment's.

Oh and I thought I would dispel the thought that the iv in the riddle is relevant, because I'm blond (and because my spellchecker didn't flag it) I didn't know it was meant to be I've. ^^
