Is the riddle grammatically correct, meaning lines 1 and 2 go together and lines 3 and 4 go together?

If you want to know the diference, if 2 and 3 were together, it would mean that it is destroyed once it is lost, while if 1 and 2 were together it would mean it is lost at one point.
