temple of the ancients
Would it be Aeris' prayer?
It's real in a sense, just like prayers exist in the real world but aren't considered to be something to any real end. (no offense intended).
Also it is used to fight evil (meteor/black materia) and uses holy magic instead of "steel"
The riddle is not vague when you consider the words used. I will now give a clue:
It is a character of FF7 (Hence "I am" wasn't just part of the riddle, it was telling you this is a person). No more clues nowThat has narrowed it down.
Consider the words I used in the riddle
Sephiroth???
So as we can see this person also exists in the real world, but is somehow not real... furthermore there are no specific characters in FF7 that also exist in the real world, so it has to be some generic character/person. But this "person" also fights "evil" (from the POV of the people anyway) and uses magic, which to my knowledge doesn't exist in this world... ummm i cant think of anything fitting this description. my only guess (other than some god-like character which isn't ever mentioned in FF7 other than theres a church in the midgar slums) would be...
Bugenhagen??
though he's a real character, he's unreal in the sense that he knows just about everything in the world, and he floats, seriously... in the real world he would be crazy-intelligent old professors, like one of my many music professors who knows everything about the subject. they fight evil, bugenhagen specifically, by using education (a magic of some sort right??) to teach the party what they need to know in order to stop the evil, thus indirectly fighting evil???
I seriously can't think of anything, not to mention that among all the clues you've given its so narrowed down that every potential answer, at least that i can think of, is crossed out by at least some requirement you've put in place. i just hope your answer also fits your parameters and if it does then good riddle man...
Seto?
None of thoseAll of those are real to the people of FF7, this character, as I have said before, is not.
*I* am still of the opinion that the first character to die is still a perfectly legitimate answer. Cait Sith (controlled by Reeve of the Department of Transportation for Shinra) is a fake because he gets crushed by the Temple of the Ancients, but Reeve just sends out a replacement to the party. And he certainly doesn't use steel, he uses megaphones, which would be some sort of plastic/alloy type design. And he is fully able to equip materia and use magic to fight evil.
But I am saddened because i gave this answer thirty posts ago, but it is still apparently wrong, though it still fits every hint.
And btw, saying it exists in our world as well is a very loose hint. One could very easily and readily claim that everything from FFVII *does* exist in our world. Toys, T-shirts, online forum signatures, paraphernalia for consumer purchase validates most anything and everything.
Just pointing out how helpful your hints are to the pessimistic answerer...
63% of statistics are made up on the spot.
Cait Sith is a real character with a real personality of reeve. The character in question is not real in any way when you look at it properly.
That would be ridiculously vague. Steel is not in a vague meaning, it is specific. And he certainly doesn't use steel, he uses megaphones, which would be some sort of plastic/alloy type design.
The word evil is not vague but specific. And he is fully able to equip materia and use magic to fight evil.
It is not Cait Sith.
I've been thinking about making this guess for a while but it's a bit iffy so I haven't. Might as well throw it out though. Is it the virtual fighter you control in the fighting game in Golden Saucer's Wonder Square?
I've been trying forever to think of properly fictional characters within the FFVII universe but nothing comes to mind.
Now you are thinking properly...
the video game version of cloud protecting the car when the shinra soldiers on motorcycles are attacking it
That fortune teller in the Gold Saucer?
