Yeah, it's short for pounds, but comes from the word Libra, since it's used in weighing.

Back to the riddle, is it Gi?

    Nope, not the Gi.

The sleeping man in the cave between Junon and Midgar? (Can't see any meaning of the 2nd line, though)

    Thanks man!

I didn't expect to get it on the first shot so I had nothing prepared for a riddle and kinda threw this together in a hurry.

On a side note: this is has to be the coolest thread I've ever been on.

It's happened before, but not on this particular riddle thread.

Is it the Leviathan Scales you use to put out the fire in the caves at Wu-Tai?

PS. Yeah I was petty surprised that you guessed BG's riddle in one go!

    No it's not the scales.

I know there's only been three guesses, but I can see that the last two lines are throwing people way off, so I've decided to change them. The answer is still the same, but hopefully the riddle is a little less ambiguous.

Strength is not always determined by numbers,
Nor is it found in the tug of the wires.
The truth is sometimes worse than the poison that preceded,
When you realize failure is the only option.

Is the answer the battle at Fort Condor, after which the condor dies even if you win the battle?

Well, by numbers, my first presumption would obviously be the number of participants in the party and there are times when you have to fight alone. However, another option is the fact that your STR level is represent through numerals (0-9)...
I have no idea what the wires are about.

I want to say this has something to do with Sephiroth if only for the revelation of the truth of his origins.

The wires are a big part of this riddle.

Good guesses eveyone, but none are right so far.
