Actually they're known as Bagrisks (and appear near Cosmo Canyon with low leveled party) but they can drop Vagrisk Claws. I'm not sure which name is preferable, but they're clearly meant to be basilisks.
At any rate, it's clearly not them. I'm running out of pertrification related/Soft dropping monsters.

I feel like theur is an item called pointer or something that casts toad on the enamy and is dropped in fights with the toads and lizard things
