Let's Play: Fallout

[Brennan]

After being bored for a few hours, and noticing that I had Fraps and can take screenshots, I decided to do a Let's Play of Fallout.




Well, nothing much to say here, it's the tital screen in it's "Glory".

Moving on.


Here's the default character, good ol' Maxwell Stoner, but we don't want him, so we go to "Create Character", and we see this.


It's up to you guys to select the Name, Gender, and Age of this character (from 16-35), whoever says whichever gender first, the character will be that gender, then try to create a name that matches the gender. I'm not gonna create a male Christina character, or a female Robert character.

Well let's go with a well rounded 20 years old? I don't know if age affects anything in this game though.

It should be a dude and his name should be Hugo.

I'm in support of Hugo being Hugo. Time to roll for stats ?

Ok, so the character is a Male, 20 years of age, and named Hugo.

What'll his stats be? (The one's in the top left, strength and stuff, I'll have to type up a list of what each optional trait does.)

I say high charisma. There should be a hooker somewhere in this game, at least there was in fallout 3. >_>

Otherwise, put it all in steroids.. I mean strength.

Melee weapons, barter, and gambling. Put 2 points in strength and 3 into charisma.

Take everything out of Int. Funny stuff happens when your an imbecile!

Hilarious as low int is, it would probably neuter the LP and not show the game's ridiculous scope off so well.

Agility, Strength, Endurance. Tag Unarmed, Doctor, and Outdoorsman. Take weird random encounters out with your bare hands. Chem Reliant and... hmmm, Heavy Handed?

Basically make someone who can punch a Super Mutant so hard it explodes.

That sounds interesting, I never really tried a melee Fallout character before.

I usually just grab a scoped magnum, encorporate VATS and go nuts.

Or cheat and have fun with Fat Boy.

Yeah but we're talking about Fallout here, not Post-Apocalyptic Oblivion

@ Brennan: It's pretty tough, but absolutely worth it. Few things are as satisfying as being able to deal as much damage with your bare hands as others can with guns. Also you can get a LOT of attacks out at higher levels, once you get various AP adding and AP efficiency stuff.

Be prepared to get shot in the back by Ian a lot, though

Really interested in seeing how this turns out. I'm someone who has only played 3 (and I assume lots of others are the same) - and for the record, that comic AK posted is brilliant - so it'll be bitchin' to see how it all started.
