Prayer Unanswered

So here I am in Sylph's cave fighting those pain in the ass spirit monsters that like to cast Sleep and Silence for five minutes when suddenly Rosa's prayer didn't work. I've played through the game a few times with the SNes, PSOne, and Advance and that as never happened before. So is this a new DS thing or what?

Yes, in the DS version of ff4, Pray has a chance of not being successful. Kinda sucks, but it's a bit more balanced that way

Aww, that's not fair. I was using that to keep Rydia's MP in check so I could keep spamming Leviathan

Its actually in all versions except the SNES version where Prayer was removed. It goes unanswered so many time in the PS1 and GBA version, I rarely use it.

I don't remember it missing in those two. I don't remember if it restored MP or not, so I probably didn't use that much either

In the Playstation and GBA version prayer was a free cure spell on everyone that sometimes failed.

It would have been funnier if it always worked but if you used it too much the thingy helping you got annoyed and threw lightning or a very big rock at you.

Whenever I would use it, I seemed to never get an answer. Maybe because I'm a godless pagan. :/

I remember it failing a lot in the PS1 and GBA versions. It never failed in the DS version for me, however.

It always had a chance of failing, in every version. Otherwise it would have been really cheapass.
