Thanks for keeping this going lively and strong. I picked another three for this week. Please keep in mind that if you submit multiple ones at a time, I'll only use one of them each week, because I like to give everyone's submissions some time to shine, but I'll post them all eventually! Agalloch--A friend told me that this was known as "Grain Metal". The vocals are Black Metal style, but the music is more 'wavy' with prog rock elements thrown into it. Most of their songs are long and repetitive, but don't let that turn you off from them. This is great music to put on during a long day at work, or if you are simply trying to wind down. For those of you who are turned off my rough vocals, just give the song a damn chance.

The song in the link below, "Limbs" is a favorite of mine off of Ashes Against the Grain. I love the general build up and the despair sounding guitar progression at the end.

Scott Matthew:
He's a New York based indie singer-songwriter, although he's originally from Australia. He contributed with six songs to John Cameron Mitchell's movie "Shortbus", which is also where I first discovered him. Other than that he apparently also did some music for "Ghost in the Shell".
What I especially like about him is his voice - it's different, interesting and packed with emotion. It complements his musical sound very well, and make his lyrics stand out more.
You will most likely love him if you're into music like Antony and the Johnsons, Rufus Wainwright, Joan as Policewoman and other New York based singer-songwriters.

Yeah, it is quite good. I love that album, but I dug ashes Ashes Against the Grain more.

The intro of the "Limbs" song by Agalloch was nice, but the vocals turned me off for some reason. I don't know, maybe they were too tame (in lack of a better word) to me?
