I used to smack my keyboard like the dirty thing it is. I learnt with time being constantly complained at that my typing is too loud at night to be more gentle with it. Though when I type at full speed I do sometimes make huge tapping noises.

I guess it depends on the mood. You have to be flexible and learn to live in the emotional moment during a good session spent with it. Nothing turns a computer on quicker than versatility.

Oh yeah well I googled how to turn a computer on and wikihow clearly states -

    1. Press the power button. If the computer doesn't turn on, you may follow these steps:

    2. Check to ensure the power cord is plugged in (at both ends).

    3. Making sure that the power is turned off and you are grounded, open the case and check that the button is going to the right two pins on the motherboard. Check the case-front pin configuration with the documenation that came with your motherboard.

    4. If this doesn't work, try unplugging it for a few minutes and letting it sit. Sometimes this can help, though it indicates a problem with your power supply. Find a replacement immediately.

    5. Check whether the CPU fan spins when you turn the PC on. To do so, put your ear to the case of the CPU. If you hear a humming noise, it almost certainly indicates that the fan is running. If, for some reason, the fan is not running, your CPU will overheat and the computer will refuse to turn on until the CPU cools down. If you smell acrid smoke, some component of your computer (mostly your motherboard) might have burnt out. It will need to be replaced.

    6. Try unplugging everything from the power supply except for the motherboard such as CD/DVD drives, hard drives, auxiliary power to your video card etc. If it boots, begin adding devices one by one until the boot fails.

    7. If all else fails, take the CPU to a qualified technician.

I never pound on my keyboard. I gently push her buttons, much like a gentle lover.
The messenger is standing at the gate
    Ready to let go
    Ready for the crush
    Too late for whispers
    Too late for the blush
    The past is mercy
    When the future is aglow
