16 is the legal age of consent for sex in most states here, too, but, uh, not for photos, I think. You can be arrested for having an explicit picture of a minor, even if it's legal for you to have sex with them, unless I'm mistaken (I personally know someone who was arrested for having explicit pictures of his sixteen or seventeen-year-old girlfriend on his cellphone). I've even heard of minors being charged with child pornography for sharing naughty photos of themselves.

Even possession of l0licon can get you a prison sentence, and it's just art.
