I was merely making a connection between striving to be the next CK and trying to be the very best, like no one ever was.

As stated above in Pokemon you try to be the very best, a veritable Pokemon master as it were. In this competition we are doing the same, only obviously we are trying to prove that we are the very best at being the next Cid's Knight, as Pokemon do not exist in our universe.
