This is a really pointless debate, but I just thought I'd pop in and point out that when you're talking about the real world, yes, old school is sort of "pre-generation". At EoFF, that doesn't apply, because the site is only nine years old. At EoFF, a generation is about 2-3 years. I mean, otherwise you wouldn't call oldbies 'oldbies' because they'd only have been here for nine years and we all know nine years old is extremely far from old in the real world. But, here, oldbies are considered old at 9 years and hence, old-school can cover that kind of relative timeframe. Much like when you say "this bread is old" when it's about a week old. Old-school follows time, and all time is relative.
