I am one of the traveling characters who the party meets in random towns throughout the game. I wear a green cloak and floppy hat.

The party can learn some powerful magic spells after going though an elaborate Zelda style trading quest to find by spellbook and defeating me in battle.

I want to be a sub-villain not connected to the main evil, with a funky costume and incompetent sidekicks, who eventually supports your cause without joining the party. I'd probably give you my airship or magic guns or something. Or lend you my special magic dog.

I wanna be that NPC that lets you play a mini-game and if you beat the mini game with such a great score you get a super awesome item. Otherwise you only get little things like potions.

I'd be a wise, well-travelled fellow who had mastered Time Magic, carried a pair of wax nunchucks (really just a pair of candles joined at the wick) and I'd basically hang around with the party giving them advice on certain monsters before dying offscreen to stop a boss that they weren't yet supposed to fight from destroying them.

And of course, dying offscreen means I don't die at all, but show up later with barely a scratch and don't rejoin the party, but do the odd thing to move the plot along and then get forgotten about.

Now where's that FF6 spritesheet I did in my image all those years ago...

I want to be the helpful guy that gives you useful information even though you just burst into my house and took all of my money out of the large chest, while I watch, then stole a couple of potions from the cupboard. Because I'm just a nice guy.

I want to be the grumpy inn keeper with a heart of gold! I would always start off complaining about my wife or good-for-nothing kids, but come around at the end.

I wanna be the one stays back in the Base and gives random commentary. However less than useful. Saying stuff like, "Oh yea, you were suppose to jump." after falling down a chasm of some sort. Or "Boy, you suck."

I wanna be one of those cool non-playable characters that pop up every now and then to join and help the group. Mysterious background stories and cool weapons will be had.

I want to be the guy who demonstrates how to equip accesories in the main menu. As if putting on a ring or a necklace is really that difficult.

Or the guy who explains how to use a save point.
