I am in a seriously bad staffing position at work.
Seriously.
So on Saturday I spent a lot of time wandering the store with NOW HIRING!!!!!!! balloons. A whole bouquet of them. A thousand of them (only six, really.)
I was crouched over a service counter, trying to tie balloon ribbon in such a way that it was secure but easily removed (no easy feat!) when a man approached me and asked if we were hiring. Yes! Yes we are, hello new friend and possible employee! I love you! (I didn't say that.)
We chatted for a few minutes about what type of work was available, what schedules could potentially be, and so on and so forth. I encouraged him to apply and excused myself to head to another area to place balloons. He fell into step beside me and said, "Can I ask you a question if you promise to not get mad?"
I expected him to tell me he had some kind of background check issues, so I said "I can't see what you could ask that'd make me mad."
And that's when he grabbed me by the wrist.
I immediately rotated my arm out of his grip and took two huge steps backwards. He said "Hey! You said you wouldn't get mad!"
I said "That's not a freaking question!"
He said "I can't hold your hand?"
I said "No you can't hold my hand!" And then he left.
Tell me about your experiences with a creeper or group of creepers. What did you do? Did you kick ass destroy creepitude? Did you run and hide in a box?
Later I'll tell you about Beethoven's baby brother.
