Default What effect or impact has Final Fantasy had on you?

To some people, Final Fantasy is just a game. To others, it's something much more. It could be like a good book to you, that you keep playing to turn the page. Maybe it's your way to escape from the real world for a while? Maybe it's something more?

So come on in, don't be shy. Talk about what effect or impact the Final Fantasy series has had on you!

The biggest impact is probably that I joined EoFF, which has brought me many memorable experiences and friendships over the years.

    As for myself...

My parents got divorced two days before Christmas in 2002. One of the presents I got that year for Christmas was Kingdom Hearts. I took it really hard, being a supersheltered kid up until then. Kingdom Hearts was my escape from reality, if for only a couple of minutes to a couple of hours a day. As corny as it sounds, the game really helped me through my transition from one lifestyle to another. Needless to say, just one game couldn't be my escape-- I completed it a couple of months after getting it after all. However, it was Kingdom Hearts that introduced me to the Final Fantasy series. The first Final Fantasy game I played was FFX, and that was enough to get me latched into the series. I wasn't a fan at that point. I was obsessed. I spent the next couple of years after that collecting and playing all of the games. If it wasn't for me searching for an escape from life in general, I probably wouldn't have gotten as obsessed with the series, and I probably wouldn't have joined different forums searching for other fans of the games.

That's pretty much it. Final Fantasy was my escape from the troubles and worries of everyday life back then. I'm nowhere near as much of a fan now as I was then, but on the other hand, I don't need to be. I don't need to escape using games. EoFF is my escape, sort of. I've made everywhere from small talk acquaintances to my closest friends here, and that's all I really need.

Joined this fourm and met my girlfriend. Oh and hours and hours of entertainment. I probably spend half my awake time on stuff that was a direct or indirect result of playing FF.

FF has given me so many hours of entertainment. In a roundabout way it brought me to EoFF and from here I have met many friends and learned basically all of whatever computer skills that I have. FF has given me a son-in-law. Who else here can say that?

So pretty much FF has brought people relationships. FF: The dating tool.

Friends and the like. And to know and interact with more fantasy like worlds. It got me into reading more fantasy books.
