Usually I find it's a combination, but if I had to choose, it would definitely be smug. I hate people like that.
Of course, I'm talking about people who take it to extremes. Everyone's entitled to think they're kinda awesome.

It's smug. Hands down. Stupid is stupid, but smug is almost like going out of your way to be a douchebag.

They're both equally as annoying, but I can deal with smugness more than stupidity.
Being stupid is often something you can't help, being smug is always intentional asshattery.

True, but what I meant more was ignorance. Like when I'm playing online and somebody mispronounces my name, it really annoys me. Also, when I'm working and I get a window with the blocks on backwards, oh geez, it's all I can do not to murder someone.
Also, with some of the people I know, it sometimes seems like a choice.
