What I mean is every other FF site has the sites author's own character page with his/her own descriptions of the characters - but FFVII sites just copy the manual...

They believe the enclosed instruction book is the government of the game and should not be changed in any way. It would disturb the balance of the universe if they paraphrased it.
Personally, I think if something is a fan site, you should have the decency of add to it some or something.

Well, I think the character's profile is pretty fixed. I mean you can't say that Cloud is actually a EX-MANWHORE instead, right?
