I don't have a desk, my computer is on the floor but that's okay because I don't own a bed either. I have a desk but it's two whole rooms away and I'm too lazy to move it.
Plus unicorns can't really sit, I mean I can because I'm me and all but my bicycle streamer tail tends to make my bum itch.

I have a laptop and use it on my lap and not on the desk. My desk has a refrigerator on it, as well as two guitar amplifiers and somewhere around 5 empty boxes which once held soda cans that I'm too lazy to throw away.
When I'm at my mom's I simply use my laptop on my bed. I will have a desk at my apartment I am moving into in a week, though, and I can guarantee it will be more of a mess than that.
I couldn't stand to not have a desk. It's usually a complete mess, but I dread to think where all the clutter would go otherwise! Even when I'm using a laptop, I use it on a desk as I find it more comfortable. I'd post a picture if my connection would allow it, but currently on it are a lot of post cards, my phone, computer monitor, two speakers, lots of post-it stickers, my watch, a case for another watch, some postage stamps, a little plastic Rancor and two containers of Tipex.

I've been using my laptop off the couch all summer. I'm not sure if I'll go back to a desk or not when my roomies move in.
That's the most pathetic disaster I've ever seen. It's fine! It'd take you 10 mins to tidy up at the absolute most.
My desk is normally uber-tidy. I clean it up before it gets too bad.

My desk is glorious.
My parents go nuts on me if I have just jewelry lying around on my dresser top. I can't even comprehend that!
As I'm approaching 20, my parent's influences are coming out in me a lot more and I'm turning into a hard Core neat freak like them. The messiest my room ever is is a lot neater than most people's at some of their bests. And I have so much STUFF in my room that it's kind of an impressive feat.
Plus, the fact that I like to clean when I'm upset or stress lends itself to a neat room too.
It gets a little harder living in a dorm, but I can still do it.
EDIT: Shlup, your desk area is soooo cute! Gah! I like Tare Panda. Is that the red stapler from Office Space

well, those pictures are from a few years ago xD
Walking was pretty difficult, which is why me and the dogs were the only ones to go back there xD
