Covered some decent ground on Disk 2 so far.

Got Quina's White Wind, one of his more useful abilities from the Local Zuu, stole some good stuff, yadda yadda.

And I wish I remembered a screen shot, but I missed it. The king of Bermecia saying 'I hope they don't attack from the trunk'...

They are in a giant smurfING TREE! They can only attack from the trunk or the sky. And given if they attack from up the trunk, the Clerya people have the advantage of higher ground and fighting in a confined space, which is good as they have fewer people, and it makes the Alexandrian numbers count for less, so long as the Clerya troops are more skilled that is, and with your guys there you have the clear advantage if they attack from the trunk.

An ariel attack is far more devastating in this scenario, yet they don't seem to worry about that until it happens.

ANd WTF was the point in using the trunk attack as a diversion? Just hit both sides at full force at once. All that diversion should have accomplished was making Alexandrias forces slowly widdle down. Sensibly they wouldn't be keeping their lower defenses spread out protecting moot points, they would be guarding that narrow ass entrance right at the top, where it is very easy to guard from an attack from the bottom.

Mind you, your guys charge down anyway...

You know? As much as I love this game, this entire scene is fail. Everyone is being freakin' stupid....

Though it's not long after, Fratley runs off, only to leave you all prey to Beatrix again...

Isn't it Ironic he misses Beatrix here? She was one of the reasons he left Bermecia, yet now, he leaves again RIGHT before one of his goals arrives.
Personally I would have liked to see a fight between the two, just so we know who really was stronger at this point, but I digress.

It wasn't long before that fat Elephant lady summons Odin, shortly after I leave of course.

I currently am on my quest to get the old Geezer for a summon. WooHoo!

I always have trouble every playthrough choosing my answer. I did it roulette style and chose the Brahne option.


Now I have just recovered Garnet from the clutches of the jester clowns, now with our plans to escape to Treno. I love this part of the game. It has such a strong and profound movement between the characters. Steiner comes out of his denial, Beatrix stops taking orders and Freya steps up to protect a friend.

Anyway, made it to Conde' Petie and Black Mage Village, kicked some ass at cards, and made the greatest decesion of my life.

Right now, I made a save state mid battle with the green giant thingy, cause I"m trying to steal that damned Fairy flute. I swear this is singly the most annoying thing to steal in this game.

I just hit the Disk 2 change! I missed that damn sword Beatrix is holding, but whatever. I think I'm pretty overleveled this time, I'm feeling pretty confident about taking on everything that comes my way.

Man, you guys are leaving me behind! I like got to the Ice Cavern, but my screenshots got destroyed so I did Evil Forest again because what's the fun of a smashthrough without screenshots?

This is the entire Evil Forest here, and the closest I could get to video was animation in a few shots so enjoy it please!

Well the princess fell of the airship so I decided to go look for her. I'm totally not expecting her to get captured or anything like that. She seemed like a good Berserker type fighter to me.


So she got captured. See I'm really not that motivated to save here because she's a White Mage basically, and all White Mages do is Defend until somebody needs to be healed. *inhales*


What? Zidane is evolving!?

Trance is pretty cool, I guess.


Super-effective! Free Energy did 300 damage! Steiner did some good damage too...48 damage!!1


Then it was Vivi's turn to get captured. At least he had Black Magic, but Black Mages are pretty useless too!


After some talking and stuff some more story events happened.


Eventually I got to fight my boss! I don't know what this was all about but I hope this is how you get promotions in the real world!


After beating up the man who pays me I decided to go save the princess because that's what monkey boys do! I found a cool cave so I went inside and found this.

This boss battle was quite fun but Plant Brain had a nasty Thunder spell.


Argh!


But leave it to the mighty Adelbert Steiner to counterattack with the powerful Fire Sword!!

Steiner is such a beast good gracious!


However even Fire Sword wasn't enough. When things were looking bad, Blank came to save the day! Wooo!


We finally finished it off (Fire Sword <3) and we got attacked by grubs! Of course we beat feet out of the forest. Blank was caught and he turned to stone with everything else though...he was kind of cool...


What will our heroes do now!?

Just making good progress through disc 2 at the moment. Might post some screenshots a bit later on. Just about to head to the Outer Continent, though I've stopped off to have a bit of fun with Chocobo Hot & Cold. Really wish you got to carry on using Beatrix though. I always feel exactly the same when I do the return to Alexandria.
