Default We're Not in Kansas Anymore! Riz-Zoawd Comes to America!

    WHAT IS THIS?!

The Wizard of Oz: Follow the Yellow Brick Road is a Nintendo DS RPG set to one of the greatest stories ever told on Broadway, in Theaters, and in storybooks from the 1940s. You do everything by the touch screen on the DS from running around the world to battling suspicious flying monkeys! Your entourage is a mix of some zany far-out characters as if dreamed up by some acid induced maniac of pure genius. Not to mention the battles follow something like that of the Dragon Quest series. Maybe battles like that aren't your thing, but still, maybe you're also an idiot. Just saying.

Further, remember all those times you played the big arcade golf games? That little white ball you had to use to swing and hit the ball. YOU USE THAT TO MOVE! you swipe your stylus across those arcade golf game track balls (does that make sense) to move. Fun right? (At least original?)

Arcade Golf Games? What do you mean?

This trailer could help explain it. Keep in mind, the ball is not magical, this is only a demo. Stylus is required.

I just saw a bunch of strange characters and a girl and some green head? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?

Unless you've been living in a cave all your life, or communist Russia/Ukraine/China/Korea/Canada, you would know who these characters are. Please see the Spoiler below for the cast of characters:

    (SPOILER)

    From Left to Right:

The Ferocious Lion: with a cute little butterfly on his nose. He's in search of Courage!

Dorothy: The Protagonist of our story. She's not in Kansas anymore. She was brought to Oz by a big tornado. She is in search of a method to travel back to Kansas to be with her evil auntie.

Toto: Dorothy's childhood pet from Kansas that wound up in the world of Oz with her.

The Mad Logger: or Tin Man as many of us know from our childhood. He's pretty beefy, and all he needs to be whole is some oil and a big disgusting heart.

really valid point and i'm impressed by your thinking.: the scarecrow character is as dumb as can be, but he hopes the magical wizard of oz will give him a brain.

And that giant head at the end of the trailer, that's the man himself, the Wizard of Oz!

I'm Interested. However, why should I buy this?

Only because you'd be a fool not to. All the cool kids will be reveling in their childhood fantasies of becoming an adolescent girl and being taken to a far-off world of magic, all on the journey to get back home. Don't take my word for it: check out these trailers and gameplay videos and decide for yourself!

The original Japanese Trailer. The Music is pretty good, 'eh? It also demonstrates that weird golf thing I mentioned before.

Following, we have a sweet gameplay trailer of the simplistic battle system!

In short, you should buy this game. It releases this week and it looks amazing, if anything unique. It takes a childhood memory and spins it on it's head to be fantastical.

What!? That's a Wizard of Oz game? For a brief moment while watching the trailer, I thought this was a Final Fantasy game. I feel duped, but at the same time intrigued.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

Wow! if it wasn't for what looks to be very simple gameplay... I'd probably purchase this, kudos to them though! I love the artstyle and (by the sounds of it) the soundtrack!

The soundtrack sounds amazing on the official Japanese website. AND the battle system is simple, but that's why people love dragon quest. I can't imagine the story not being awesome.

Apparently, there are four witches of each seasons and the witch of the winter is most like Glenda, only fat.

Then there are two evil witches. There are also elemental spirits, and Toto, and it just looks AWESOME!

XSeed made the last couple Wild ARMs games and they were enjoyable enough. If I played my DS at all, I'd maybe look into this.
