I loved the movie. When the first teaser came out, I was extremely hyped up about seeing it. But when a real trailer was finally released, I had my doubts because after seeing the giant robot, I was afraid that it would just be a mindless action flick. I was totally proven wrong and I actually enjoyed the action in the movie.

Edit: But no wait! There's more! Apparently his Top Ten for 2005 had War of the Worlds in the joint #1 spot, with Munich.
For the record, 2005 is the year Batman Begins came out.
This movie was pretty awesome, it was definitely nailed the "right" way to do an alien movie, something I've been waiting for for a while now. I just felt like (SPOILER)the ending got kind of sloppy and fairly cliché, but other than that I was very impressed with it.
D9 was the second best movie that seen friday
Yeah, the ending felt pretty out of place so far as the mood for the rest of the movie goes. It was still a very well done fight regardless and pretty impressive.

Good action, great splatter scenes, plot was rather predictable didnt like the camera work. The whole "shaky camera" thing was ok when it was relevant ie. when they were filming the documentary, but otherwise it just gave me headaches. Overall I liked it.
