Bad Neighbours (aka Neighbors in US & Canada) - 3/5

It wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting it to be, it just popped on while I was channel flicking and I decided to give it a fair go since it was only just starting. In the end, it was nothing amazing, but it had a lot of funny moments and generally was good fun for something to watch when you're just wanting something to watch when you're ill like I am.

Nope, not for me. I think Christopher Nolan has finally been found out. The writing is extremely muddled with some cringeworthy lines. Also, the acting in it was as bad as I've seen for a Hollywood blockbuster in a long time. The special effects were very impressive but not all shots worked as well as he expected them to. He has set such a high standard for himself but this is as big a fall from grace that I have seen.

New RoboCop. Wasn't funny, didn't stand out as an action movie at all, had none of the charm of the first one

Anyway, I went to go see Chappie. I enjoyed it thoroughly and it gave me many feels. I couldn't tell by the trailer what it was about exactly, but the idea of being able to live forever through your own consciousness in a body that doesn't age seems pretty great. There were definitely plot holes, but it was still enjoyable. Another film where you have to suspend disbelief in order to really appreciate it.

Finally got around to seeing Whiplash. Jesus smurfing Christ it was good. Really, really smurfing good. Easy 10/10 for me.

Jake Gylenhaal movie. Really freakin good. If you liked him as Donnie Darko playing like a psycho type character then this is the movie for you. Very cool story all taking place in night time Los Angeles. Cool cinematography.

Still Alice.

It focuses on how a middle aged professor wbo gets diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease. It's ok, but the ending...hated it. It's like all this stuff happens and you expect it to go somewhere. Then it's over. I actually verbally said at the cinema "I hate endings like that, it pisses me off" xD
