Black Swan. Great and beautiful movie, although ending was bit predictable.

    9/10

The Fighter. Another great movie with an awesome cast.

They could have played more Dropkick Murphys during the movie... 8/10

I saw Rango over the weekend with some family.

It's actually pretty good. The story is a pretty good spoof of your classic western, with a good amount of nods to certain famous western characters or actors. The details of the animation are excellent, and the voice acting is top notch in my opinion.

If anything, it's not aimed at very little kids. The story would be harder for them to follow, there were several violent deaths, and some language. I saw many kids, say 7 or under, that were getting very fidgety due to disinterest. Meanwhile all the parents and other adults all seemed to be enjoying it.

You don't need to see it on the big screen for the full effect, but it is a good movie to go see with a few friends for something to do.

    I'd say 7/10.

Wow this movie was fun. It had some cheesy marine dialogue but it was hella fun. It was like what a FPS would be if it was made into a (good) movie. If you want something thought provoking, it's not for you. If you want explosions and gun fire and "Holy badass, that was awesome!" Go see this movie. It's full of that.

    Matrosity!

I just watched Megamind. Because of the trailers and previews, I was able to predict nearly the entire plot of the film.

But it was still good. I kept telling my mom that Will Ferrell was Megamind and she kept asking "Where is he? I don't hear Will Ferrell. He's not in this movie."

She also didn't believe it when we found out Brad Pitt was in it. I believed it. That dude sounded rather Pittish. At least she was able to believe Jonah Hill if only because he looked exactly like Hal. But my mom judges too much by sight. Ridiculous.

I have a confession. I didn't finish watching this film when I first saw it. The copy that I had was a really bad bootleg my dad guy from some random guy on the street. So I went over to my friend's house to watch all of it. He has an epic surround sound system and projector with a large movie screen. It was amazing. I don't think I would have enjoyed the movie as much without the surround sound because you really get to experience all the elements of the film at it's best. So, I will say that all the action sequences were stunning. I really enjoyed the different worlds and I took a great liking to all the psychology, philosophy, and physics references within the film. The ending kinda irritated me. I like ambiguity and all that, but goddamn.

Still I like movies that make you think especially ones that are abstract. If I rated The Matrix I would've gave it a 9/10. Not a 10 only because Keanu Reeves is lead...I was going to give this one a 9 as well, but I have to give it an 8 because there were a few things that simply didn't make sense (SPOILER)even if you were to believe that everything happens inside of his mind because obviously inside of an intelligent head. Things like the snow scene, nothing being gravity defying. Didn't make sense at all seeing as how they're all in the van. And there were other minor things as well, but great film. Definitely in my top ten best actions films of all time. I was immediately able to detect that (SPOILER)the old guy was Watanbe so that made the beginning less confusing. But just as you start to realize what's happening you get confused again. Still, even if the confusion of it at first takes a way from it, it's really enjoyable. I'm actually going to give it a rare decimal rating (rare for me anyway) for that reason.

    Star Trek 2009 Movie

I wanted to watch it in theaters but I couldn't find anyone to pay for my ticke, I mean got with me. I now know why, I'm the only one in my group who caught the references to the old serieses and movies. No one of my other friends have seen any Star Trek!

Anyway, awesome movie. Hearing Nimoy do the narration at the end was just icing.

The last movie I watched was:

    Scott Pilgrim vs. The world

    scott.jpg

After playing some of the game with the same name for Xbox 360 I knew I had to watch the movie. The game holds lots of charm which the movie greatly have captured. The movie is shortly about Scott a young man in love with a young girl named Ramona Flowers but to get the girl Scott has to defeat Ramonas 7 evil ex-lovers. The movie places all of the right jokes at the right place so if you like comedies this movie is perfect.
The style of the movie is very intresting to since it uses stuff like soundeffects from comics and sometimes very qucikly moves forward.

This VERY short review isn't fair to the movie since there is so much to say about it. But this movie is well worth its 112mins running time.

    9.5/10

    Resident Evil: Afterlife

Some of the opening sequences annoyed me. Milla did 90% of her own stunts which made her look kind of stiff and the fact that every single Alice clone looked alike from the attire to the hairdo really grated on my nerves. I liked the inclusion of her psychic blast, but wanted to see more of the clones.
I watched the commentary in which they explained why they chose to do a time-freeze in the helicopter crash. They were trying something different. I didn't really like it.
It wouldn't be a true installment to the Resident Evil franchise if Alice and her cohorts didn't have to escape from some dark building and this film doesn't disappoint.
I liked the characters but I hated some of the lines. In particular, one character remarks to Alice three or four times in a row that he thought she was sent to rescue them. We get it! Shut up!
Some nobodies, some cool characters, one character I never liked and never trusted. I liked Shawn Roberts' portrayal of Albert Wesker, although I admit I had to get used to it. There were two points in the movie that I was able to predict, but that's true of basically any film.
The ending made me tired. Basically a prelude to RE5. I was upset at the thought that they'd left the ending open to a new installment much like I was with the ending of Pirates 2. Endings are supposed to be ambiguous. At least Afterlife's ending was much more ambiguous that Pirates 2.

All in all, some actiony fun: 8/10

    Jackass 3D

Still funny in it's own jackassy way. I found myself laughing less and less as the film went on, but that's pretty much how it went with the previous films in the trilogy too. A good mix of organised hijinks, disgusting stuff and the just-plain-stupid. Also in a similar vein to the previous films, the funniest gags are often the short ones. I loved the Rocky one.

It's still no substitute for a proper movie though.

I watched Clash of the Titans... last year... in Canada... the new one... with Sam Worthington... and Liam Neeson.

I watched it again yesterday. I think it's awesome. My parents watched it too. My mom kind of likes it. My dad complained that the original was better. He said the only thing the remake did well was Medusa. She was surprisingly f---ing hot for a supposedly freakishly ugly Gorgon. She had a pretty epic battle and death too. Although my dad agreed the Kraken was bigger in this movie, he still thinks the original looked cooler. I'm thinking he's verging on sinility.
I don't know the true mythology behind Perseus's quest, but I do know they made a lot of alterations to the story. I care very little. My dad gets irritated.

    Overall 8/10

The original is better. The remake is good though.

I remember seeing the original in theaters and having medusa nightmares for weeks afterwards.
