The City of Lost Children

Brilliant film! Very original script complete with clones, Santa Claus, a talking brain, ingenious children, and Ron Perlman. If you have seen the director's other film, Amelie, it's definitely very different from that. It's like a bizarre whirlwind of black comedy meeting fantasy. It's also one of the most visually stunning films I've seen.

I've seen some people compare this film to Pan's Labyrinth, and although both films feature the cute little girl protagonist who gets thrown into a fantasy world, the two films are not one and the same. Regardless, I recommend it despite the highly annoying clones. It's not my favorite foreign film, but definitely worth a watch.
