City Island: 8/10 - Pretty standard feel-good indie comedy about a dysfunctional family. Acting was good, writing was solid.

Uncertainty: 7/10 - Interesting storytelling concept though a bit jumbled and confusing at the beginning. JGL does a superb job like usual; Lynn Collins does not.

Legion: 4/10 - The only thing that really saved this movie was the fact that it wasn't an angels vs. demon storyline that has been told do death in these type of apocalyptic films. Acting was still subpar, writing was almost as bad.

The Trotsky: 9/10 - Extraordinarily odd movie with good acting, writing, and story. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how Jay Baruchel keeps getting movie roles where he plays the nerd who gets the hot girl.

    I don't do lengthy reviews.

Lord that film was terrible. I saw it in the cinema with my ex, and I remember we were both laughing our heads off when one of the guys was dying and said something like "don't forget to read the instructions" like it was some kind of Ikea product.

I liked it, it was fun. Hawkeye showed up. And the effects were awesome. I loved the fights. The one at the beginning was great. It a lot of funny moments too.

    8.10

And there was a trailer for Captain America and First Class.

Do "Planet Hulk", "Under the Red Hood", and "Crisis On Two Earths" count as movies? If so: Planet Hulk, I liked though it's probably not for everyone. Batman vs. the Red Hood was awesome, but Crisis was even better although the plot was a little "huh?" I read online a critique by a viewer who didn't like how small in scope Ultraman's ambition was, but I'd like to remind fans that Superman originally only cared about protecting Earth so it makes sense to me that Ultraman only cares about ruling Earth. Frankly, I'm more surprised that the Green Lantern's counterpart didn't have grander schemes.

In any case, on to real movies.

I recently watched Tangled, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and Tron Legacy.

I loved them all. I'd give Tangled an 8/10. Narnia and Tron 9/10. Critics claimed Tron's plot was lame, but I don't care. It's typical of videogames to deliver more flash than substance and Tron is pretty much about a videogame.

Yeah, some of the lines were pretty horrible.

Social Network - 6.5/10. Okay movie, nothing to really write home about though. Jesse Eisenberg had a pretty solid performance, but everything else paled in comparison.

Blind Side - 6/10. Pretty typical feel good football movie. Don't really understand all the praise that was thrown at this movie when it came out.

Leaves of Grass - 5/10. Moved excruciatingly slow the majority of the time, Ed Norton's performance has the brothers wasn't entirely believable, specifically his performance as the "responsible" twin.

The Town - 8/10. Likable cast (Renner and Affleck, at least), somewhat engaging storyline. Entertaining as a whole.

The Messenger - 8.5/10. Good movie. Moved rather slow, but I think it worked for the material and the characters. Harrelson, Foster, and Buscemi all did very well with their parts and made the entire process somewhat believable.

The Perfect Score - 3/10. Acting was horrible, dialogue was terrible, characters were unbelievable. The only thing that really saved this movie and kept me watching was the fact that Johansson is considerably more attractive in it than she is now.

    Blue Valentine

I don't really understand the time jumping, but I like the character study and the acting. Ryan Gosling is by far one of the most talented young actors out there right now. He's really believable at any age he plays in the film. Michelle Williams was poignant. Note: She is also good in the indie flick, Wendy and Lucy. It's very black and white even if it doesn't set out to be. You either end up villainizing Michelle's character and sympathizing with Ryan's or vice versa...you end up hating Ryan's and feeling bad for Michelle. It depends on the mindset, but either way I thought it was a decent yet slow driven indie.

The thing that annoys me most about indies is everything that the film did. The slow build up and the lack of anything superfluous. However, the same thing that makes indies annoying to me, made this film good. You just get a good concrete story without all the b.s. that most movies that cost ten times as much tend to do ad nauseum. It's a good film to watch if you're in the mood for an indie flick and hearing Ryan Gosling sing (which is always a plus in my book). It also has a lot of sex and Michelle's robust booty.

It's a bad film to watch if you've just gotten out of a break-up. Instead, you should watch something like 500 Days of Summer because at least it was quirky, funny, and had a happy ending. This is a straight up drama in all sense of the word, but definitely worth a watch by a crowd who can appreciate a good story with good acting, and little else.

World invasion: battle Los Angeles 7/10
The movie is about aliens that land in LA and try to take over the world.
In the movie you follow a squad of Marines who try to save some siviliance.

Though the movie reviews ive read werent that optimistic about this movie i really liked it. though i did not like how the aliens looked at all :P haha
In the beginning it really gave me a Modern Warfare feeling..
and naturaly, Michelle Rodriguez was in that movie as the bad-ass female marine,
could have expected that :P haha!!
The movie kept me fascinated till the end

sorry for being so bad at movie revieuws!! hahaha

I've seen a piss stream lately. Boredom list of boredom nobody is ever going to read, go, go ,go.

Madeo (Mother) : A South Korean movie about a mother trying to prove her differently abled, or whatever we call it anymore, son is innocent of a crime. It was super fun as a mystery and a drama, and it managed some nice doses of humor throughout the grim.

Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Paranoid Park: What should have been a short film was instead padded out by a bunch of mini music videos as Gus Van Sant follows around some kids he found on MySpace or something. It's really slow, but I should expect that from him. I guess it's based on a book in an attempt to justify his need to tape teenagers taking showers and having cute hair.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba:

Mean Creek: A bully is picking on some wimp, so his older brother and his hick friends want to play a prank as revenge. It sounds lame, but it's actually really good. It's nice that it wasn't cut and dry. No character is without flaws or sympathy in this one. When a snail is stabbed, it dies really weird looking, by the way. I learned something!

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Scream 4: Great for fans, though I think newbies will not appreciate it much. I know exactly where I would have ended it, but I accept what they did. Some of it tips too much into Scary Movie realm, and frankly it's not scary at all (but none of them are). It's fun, though, and that's the point for me. I'd like to see a list of where Scream 3's writer burst in and did his rewrites. I can guess at a few points. I only genuinely cared for one new character, but I still was invested in the returning 3 that surely have huge Wikipedia pages at this point.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Severance: A UK movie that handles horror and comedy well. It's about a sales division that goes on one of those stupid team-building weekend exercises. It, ya know, goes wrong and all. The movie was just plain fun throughout and gave my new favorite use of European escorts and a rocket launcher.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Joshua: This is one of those evil kid movies. It's the second time I've seen it since I forgot it all. It's a bit more ambiguous than others in the sense there's no blunt "HE'S THE DEVIL" despite the longer title occasionally used that calls him the Devil's child. It honestly leaves you wondering if the kid just had some kind of personality disorder and everyone around him was merely stupid. I appreciate a lot of what it does, but I wouldn't exactly call it good. Joshua at least prepared Vera Farmiga for when she was stuck in Orphan later on. Esther may be more hardcore, but she'd tackled a jackoff kid before.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba:

Rabbit Hole: Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart are super rich white people with cars that probably turn into Transformers that actually have a reason to be all upset for once. I feel like the main character would be unlikable if someone less of an actress played her, so kudos to Kidman. It is depressing yet perfectly watchable, and they carried what is essentially one plot element into a full movie well.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Batman: Under the Red Hood: As one of 3 people that likes Robin, this animated movie was fun for me. The plot revolves around the Jason Todd days as the second Robin all the fans hated a lot. Despite what should have been a bunch of tomfoolery, they managed a good use for him eventually. Battie regulars Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are sadly missing, but their replacements are fine. I think I read Mark is done with voicing him forever after Batman: Arkham City, so I better get used to Bender doing it.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

TiMER: A device that lets you know the exact day you'll run into your soulmate is made. It's basically a watch, ever counting down. This can be good and bad, and raises lots of interesting questions. The movie generally fields them while trying to be a romantic comedy at the same time. It was less predictable than most and stayed away from the types of scripts Sandra Bullock likes.

    Score: :goomba: :goomba: :goomba:

Random gay porn everywhere: Straight guys don't do those kinds of things, and certainly not that well. I don't get this weird fantasy and why it's ruined the Internet for me.

    Score:

The Rocketeer: Saw this come on Syfy a few hours ago and I decided to watch it because I remember hearing that this was based on a comic series and since I'm all into that I tuned in.

It was a pretty decent film. I had missed some of it in the beginning, but I got most of it. I liked the atmosphere and setting. I've always been attracted to those 1920s, 30s, 50s settings. The acting was good in general and it was a bit surprising to see one of the actors from Goodfellas in this, but again he did have experience with a period film already. The plot and ending were predictable, but it entertained me so it did its job.
