Last night on Internet Pirate Television, we watched a movie called Robowar.

It was pretty clearly a rip off of Predator, but took itself completely seriously. One character is a rampaging robot who literally says "beep beep boop bip beep" the entire time.

Other than that it was a good movie, though a bit more exposition on Hyperion's motives, like a flashback or dream sequence would have been nice.
I agree about Hyperion. I really disagree on the 3D not being noticeable; I think it gave the movie more visual depth when there wasn't blood or bone fragments flying around.

    Immortals
    6/10

These Greek mythology flicks (Clash of the Titans) are too interchangable. This time around the gods were more interesting. Weak plot though and that killed it for me.

Just finished watching Puppet Master III Toulan's Revenge, quite possibly my favorite of the first three films, because it tells the story of Toulan and his mischevious puppets. TBH I felt myself rooting for the puppets this time around (unlike the first two) so if I had to put a score on this one I'd give it a 8/10

    The Sitter

    6/10

Funny but it won't be remembered. Predictable and formulaic. Trailers before it were awesome tho ie American Reunion.

So far today I watched Camille, Dangerous Beauty, and Something Borrowed.

Camille made absolutely no sense... but I liked it. It was just whimsical enough to please me. Barely.

Dangerous Beauty was total cheesy romance novel stuff, but it was supposedly based on a true story so I can pretend I'm being all historical by watching it. Good stuff.

Something Borrowed was fairly unique for a romantic comedy. It was ok. Better than I thought, at least.

    Tough Guys Don't Dance

What a glorious mess. A trite lurid thriller involving cocaine, double and triple crosses, blackouts, wild parties, wife swapping, not one but two femme fatales and one very psycho cop. Set in Provincetown and beautifully shot, but the characters are generally one note and flat. You never get the feeling that any of them have depth. Except the main character's father, a tough talking wiseguy who's undergoing chemotherapy but is steely and fearless and both proud and ashamed of his wastrel of a son.

This movie is infamous for a scene where the main character gets a note asking him to commit a murder and starts screaming 'Oh God, oh man!' over and over as the camera spins around.

Hilariously awful and a lot of fun if you love bad movies.

I watched "127 Hours" last night.

I'd give it an 8/10. I thought James Franco played the part really well. Even though the majority of the film is just him and a rock... it still kept me interested.

The 2003 DVD includes a interview with the writer and director, Norman Mailer, who defends the scene as integral to the plot and fought to keep the scene in despite warnings from Ryan O'Neal and almost everyone else involved. He's wrong, but this scene is the reason I know about this movie in the first place, so I'm grateful.

Funny enough they could have used this reaction much earlier when he finds (SPOILER)his wife's head in his drug cache. You'd think that would affect him more than the letter.
