I watched Salò.
It was quite beautifully shot - but totally disturbing, as you might expect. One of the actors looked EXACTLY like Robert Pattinson, so if you ever want to see him in a wedding dress eating poop then see this movie

Speaking of Robert Pattinson...
Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1
4/10
My boyfriend really wanted to watch this, so I rented it On Demand. Having seen all of the Twilight series on Shotime, I can say that this was probably the most boring one. With Harry Potter they did two parts because (in addition to money) the book was really friggin' long. I haven't read the books, but regardless, they could have made this movie in 20 minutes instead of splitting it in to two parts to make more money. Then again, that can be said for most movies over 20 minutes.
With that said, they probably would've had a better film since most of the action that takes place in this one is them getting married, playing chess, and dealing with pregnancy. The only interesting part was the wolves, but even that was laughable. When they started speaking to each other telepathically it was some of the worse voice acting I've ever heard.
The visual effects in the film were also a bit odd although I don't think the average person could tell that the feathers weren't real feathers. They could've easily just had real floating feathers. The whole big amped up scene with them in the water was also really really bad, not because of cheesiness, but because of the fact that the lighting was so off. It's obvious they shot that during the day, or just had simply horrid lighting. At least this one was color corrected decently for the most part, unlike it's predecessor Twilight.
As for the acting, I can tell that the actors have really gotten use to their roles and are now shining in them; such as Taylor Lautner who was particularly convincing as an embittered and violent werewolf. I can also say the same for Kristen Stewart, who despite still constantly fluttering her eyes throughout the film, was alot less jittery and more confident in what she was doing. As for the sound, it was okay. I actually think the sound was better in Eclipse, but perhaps there was just more action in that film for me to judge that on.
It was cool that they threw in the music from the first film in the series to tie things together nicely. I believe the song during their wedding is the one playing during Bella and Edward's first unofficial date. However, I think it was overdone to have music in practically every scene. As if to say, "Hey this movie is boring so here's some music to make it less painful." Sometimes the best sound is no sound, and that goes for the dialogue as well...could've did without some of it.
The flashbacks and flash-forwards were also way too bountiful. Last I checked, only Alice could see in the future, but yet we have a flash-forward in to the future from Jacob (played by Taylor Lautner) and I believe even Bella (played by Kristen Stewart) at one point. During the flash-forward, I realized that Jacob's character is fantasizing about a newborn baby. And that's when I realize that nothing can redeem this film at all. Don't go see this film if you have any respect for the horror genre, or even romantic dramas.
The Secret World of Arietty
It's Miyazaki, so if you're familiar with his work, what more needs to be said other than 'see it'?
It's a nice take on the Borrowers stories, with a small cast of characters and moments of quiet observation. The characters are believable and well defined. I saw it with a large crowd of kids and it was nice to see it get a good reception.
I downloaded Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Human Centipede 2 but nobody seems up for having a bad movie night with me![]()
Conqueror of shambala.

Attack the Block - It was really good! Funny, surprising, great acting, and I loved the take on alien creatures as "big gorilla-wolf mothersmurfers". Lol.
