What an amazing movie and I think this is what a lot of movie should strive to be. This movie showed us everything with a lot of minimal dialog between the main character and others. The 80s stylization along with the synth pop soundtrack brought the movie to a whole new level. The camera work and lighting was great.

It is a bit of a slow moving movie but it really engages you in everything that is happening. The violence can be quite brutal but it is quick and over with. Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan really steal the show while Al Brooks turns in a fantastic performance in every scene he is in. Of course Ron Pearlman and Bryan Cranston turn in solid performances.

Why did it take me so long to watch this movie is my only complaint...and that one is on me.
Drive was indeed an excellent movie. The stylistic choices just worked so well together. I wouldn't complain if more movies were like it in the future. "Want a toothpick?"

I recently watched Gomorrah, I had it on my Netflix Instant Queue for the longest time and I finally sat down and watched it. I was mostly underwhelmed. It deals with the Neapolitan mob and their influence on the surrounding environment. I felt like the narrative tried to introduce so many disparate story-lines, and they never really all meshed together nicely in the end. It kind of just felt sloppily thrown together to me. I like listening to Italians speak Italian tho.
