Thread: Last movie you watched and your critique of it

    Warm Bodies

The concept was really intriguing and the movie itself was pretty good. Definitely a cute idea that I think is just a little hard to execute, cause zombies are just not cute/romantic. Once the movie hit its stride toward the mid point it definitely got better and the dark comedy was done really well. I never did really laugh out loud at the comedy and I never found myself going "d'awww" at the romance side of the movie, but it was above average in both of those categories, and overall an enjoyable watch.

    6.5/10

Just finished watching Spiderman 4The Great Gatsby. Pretty good adaptation from the book, but it really bothered me that they were playing modern music at the parties. Like, I'm pretty sure Jay-Z wasn't alive back in the 1920's.

    I haven't seen this yet...

    They did?

    Fat & Furious 6

It wasn't as good as I thought it'd be, but it was decent. I'm glad they brought back Letty, disappointed that Eva Mendes was in the trailer at the end of 5 but not actually in the movie.

Also.. Power Rangers Movie. XD Bad Acting & Cheesy Storylines at their finest.

    EDIT:

I'm already critiquing Transformers 4. Optimus Prime has been a Peterbilt 379 for the last 3 movies and now it's a freaking Western Star. He looks -ugly- (my dad has a Pete 379, but with a custom sleeper on it instead of factory). Same paint job, ugly truck. I'm not happy. I'm also disappointed that Shia LeBouf is axed out 'cuz I really do think he's a great actor. But maybe Mark Wahlberg will be a pleasant surprise.

I watched Kes and Le Samourai.

Kes just about broke my heart. A real kick-in-the-teeth fillum. Good though.

Le Samourai was real good, give it a watch.

Thirteen - with Nikki Reed, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeremy Sisto, & Holly Hunter.

I've seen it a million times, but it kind of portrays how I was in my teenage years in a sense, though what I went through is nowhere close to the movie really.
I also have a huge crush on Nikki Reed. IDK why lol

Oh, I forgot to mention that I last saw a couple movies last week.

First off, I saw Les Misérables. It was pretty neat and I enjoyed the music and singing.

Secondly, I saw Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. It was really funny as heck. xD

    This is the End

    8/10

It was funny as smurf. Danny McBride is the funniest mofo alive.

    The Hangover Part 3..

It was funnier than I expected it to be... Mostly due to Zach Galifinakis & Ken Jeong, though John Goodman was a pleasant surprise. I'm so happy he's getting back into acting (yes, I still watch "Roseanne" and still love it lol) and doing well with the parts he's played... Even though it's only been a couple (Flight w/Denzel Washington & this one) that I know of...

I just read this, but did y'all know that Ken Jeong was a Doctor of Internal Medicine before he started acting? His wife was the one who pushed him into his acting career. Smart lady. Ken Jeong is hilarious.

The Great Gatsby. I loved it as much as I thought I would.

    The Purge

    2/10

    Dumb as smurf.

Also John Goodman has been actively working for years now. Check out Red State.

    Oz

It was poorly written, the CG was was pretty bad, and the whole thing just felt extremely childish.

    Story and characters 5/10
    Monkey cuteness 9001/10

    The Great Gatsby

Movie was really well-made. I don't know exactly how faithful it was to the original story but from what I can remember of the book it was pretty accurate. Soundtrack was 12/10 really really amazingly good.

...naw, naw, naw. That's what hypo said. I admit Oz was childish and I was at times irked by Kunis' performance as greenie meanie, but I still found the film highly enjoyable.

Also saw Hansel & Gretel. Was this movie directed by Tarantino, it feels like a Tarantino. I don't really approve of the "plot twist", admittedly it made the main characters seem unique but I would have accepted their being simply capable.
