Gravity - 10/10

Words really can't do it justice. And I mean that literally. This is the kind of movie which can not be adequately described in words and absolutely must be seen to understand just how utterly amazing it is.

The perfect example of what happens in a movie that isn't given the time to breathe. It just jumped from one scene to the next like it had ADD. All of the plot twists in the movie either came completely out of left field on account of lack of character development or you didn't care enough because of lack of character development. It was better than I thought it'd be given the premise, but it could have been LOADS better.

I've been on a movie kick the past few days. I'm gonna give some quick thoughts on the last few movies I watched.

1. Troll 2 Riff Trax - 4/5The movie itself has been one I've enjoyed since I first saw it a couple of years ago. This is probably one of my favorite movies when it comes to the so bad it's hilarious category. The Riff Trax doesn't really add too much to the movie, but it's still enjoyable for people who enjoyed Mystery Science Theater 3000. Rating based on my enjoyment: 4/5.

2. The Best Worst Movie - 3/5This is a documentary about Troll 2 by the main kid from the movie. The movie is both about the fandom and about where the cast was at the time of the filming of the documentary (I think it had been 18 years since Troll 2 was made? I can't remember for sure). It's extremely interesting, but also a bit depressing. If you are a fan of Troll 2 (or even if you just know about Troll 2), I'd say it's worth a look. If you don't know anything about Troll 2, though, then chances are you would get no enjoyment from this. I'd rate it at about 3/5.

3. Raising Arizona - 5/5This is the second Coen Brothers film I've seen (the first being True Grit). I knew nothing about this movie going into it except that Nicolas Cage was in it, and my friends have often said that it is the best movie he's ever been in. I have to say, his acting was excellent in this film, and that was a shock. The movie was extremely funny and I loved every minute of it. One of my new favorite films. 5/5

4. The Shining - 5/5I had seen this movie before and enjoyed it, but this is the first time I had ever seen it by myself without people talking and joking around throughout it. The first time I saw it, I just thought it was okay. But after seeing it again and getting immersed in the world, it's probably my favorite horror film next to Suspiria. I like the dream/nightmare like feel of this movie, and the setting is just so interesting to look at. I also really enjoy thinking about it after watching it, trying to piece together some of the mysteries within the movie. 5/5

5. INK - 3 or 4/5This is kind of a hard movie to discuss in the context of if others should watch it. It's very amateurish in a lot of ways (the acting can be spotty and it had a very low budget). The story can also be pretty confusing. That being said, I could personally look over all of those things and appreciate the bigger picture. I loved the story and themes within it. I enjoyed the characters. Also, few movies have touched me in a way that this movie has. For myself, I would say it's a 4/5 film. For other people, I should probably score it more at 3/5 because there are quite a few shortcomings to the film. Either way, it's a great low budget, scifi/fantasy film that I would highly recommend.

its been a long while since i have seen this movie.. problably when it was just released on dvd or something..

the fact that Elizebeth Swann and Wil Turner are Not in this movie makes the movie alot better in my opinion.
i just dont like those 2. they were good in the first movie but after that i stopped liking them. so i am glad that this movie is all about jack sparrow

You can't make an indie flick out of a time travel storyline. You just can't.

I love Aubrey Plaza, but she has no variety in acting skills that I have seen thus far in the several shows/movies she has been involved in. I really love her, but she is best fit for April Ludgate type roles and not somewhat serious roles like ones in this movie.

Pretty much what she said. I'd probably give it a 5/10 but with pretty much the same reasoning. It was mildly entertaining, but the script was a tad too unrealistic and the acting so-so.

i inmediatly felt sorry for Loki, i can never truly see him as a bad guy, he is to cute for it ^^
i love how they keep referring back to the avengers in every movie of them like (SPOILER) Loki shapeshifting into captain America.. that made my day! (its a tiny spoiler, nothing important that will ruin the plot for you)

Saw Ender's Game. Will spend the rest of my life wishing I hadn't.

I could go on for ages about everything that was wrong. In fact, everything was wrong with it. Everything. Somehow they managed to get the fact that it's about a boy and that it primarily takes place in space correct, and it's shocking that they actually got those two things right and didn't turn Ender into a girl like they did with Anderson. The only explanation for such an atrocity of a film would be perhaps if apes were behind the production. That's probably an insult to apes. I am almost certain they could have done a better job.

1/10. The 1 is for the irony of Harrison Ford's role and that fact that he was zipping around in space and blowing up ships as Han Solo thirty-five years earlier. Or a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, whichever you prefer.

Atleast I got the satisfaction of knowing I was right about my gut feeling!

It's a shame it's not very good. I'll probably still see Ender's Game because my family wants us all to go watch it. I might enjoy it more just based on the fact that I don't remember the book very well aside from basic plot points. At the very least, I feel I can be certain that it won't be as bad as the movie adaptation they did of The Dark is Rising. That thing had everything wrong (setting, age of the main character, most every plot point, the gender of several people if I remember right).

Also, I just watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition. I'm one of the people who actually really enjoyed the movie when I saw it in theaters. Unfortunately, unlike The Lord of the Rings, the extended edition really didn't add anything to this movie. I think it actually threw off the pacing even more in some points. It's only about 15 more minutes or so, I think, so it's not too big of a deal. Still really enjoyable. The special features on it are just as good as The Lord of the Rings from what I've heard, though.

I watched X-Men: First Class for the first time. It was fun enough, even if I'm not sure how canon it was. I wanted more Charles/Rave and less Eric (I thought his actor was very bland). I loved seeing The Beast's actor in a sympathetic role for once!

I didn't really like how they connected Charles and Raven to one-another, and cleared up the timing issue (if there was one, I haven't read the comics) of her being a little girl in the 1940s (her cells regenerate so fast she'll still have the appearance of a teenager in 30 years, etc).

I did find the overall plot a bit bland. I wanted less of Kevin Bacon and January Jones, and more just focusing on the young versions of the characters we know and love. I couldn't care less about the X-Men I didn't know about, though.

If anyone has extensive knowledge of the X-Men world, can you tell me if this fits in with the canon/continuity? Especially the Professor X/Mystique bits.
