I watched the Angry Video Game Nerd movie today because I have a casual interest in him. When he just sits and reviews a game he's pretty clever and entertaining, but when he's doing his plot-based stuff or just chaining swear words together (he doesn't do it as well as the Trailer Park Boys do), he's kind of lame.
Unfortunately, an almost two hour movie just highlights that fact for me. I didn't laugh much, and I really wanted to like the movie because despite having a really low budget, it was clear that a lot of work and passion was put into it. Some of the rips on the low budget nature of the movie were fine, and there was a moment or two that I laughed, but I was mostly bored and thought a lot of the jokes didn't work.
The ending was good though, and him reviewing ET during the credits was nice because it was him doing what he does best. Sadly, I just didn't enjoy the movie.
