Default Eyes on Obscure Bands and Musical Artists (and missing birth certificate) Week Eight:

Sorry for the delay, broskis, I started up a few other events so I'm a little taxed!

Okay, three new bands? Got it!

    Do Me Bad Things

A nine-person London-based band that combines glam rock, blues and jazz. They're not really known much outside of the UK.

    Time for Deliverance
    What's Hideous?
    The Song Rides

They have such a fun presence, especially on camera, I'm sure they were amazing live. I hope they reform.

Anyway yeah have some random jazz music imho. Soil and "Pimp" sessions is the band, and they are quite genius imho.

A.I.E - I would recommend starting with this track, pretty much sums up the band quite nicely.

The world is filled by... - starts off pretty ghetto but quickly gets quite epic.

We Want More!!!!!! - this is probably my favourite song by them, can't help but dance like a tit when it comes on.

Summer Goddess - Quite like this one too!

Zambezi - Had to include this one 'cause the piano player goes off on one in the middle and it's quite awesome.

i-rony - and the entire band goes off on one in this track. this is one of their more insane moments, I love it but it might not be for all. Best to throw it out there I thought!

And there you have it. I hope at least someone out there gets some enjoyment from it.

Okay, they're not the single most obscure band in the world, but I don't expect most to have heard of them. They're trance/electro/industrial from Britain and I quite like them. They do some good stuff, some of it is surprisingly moving.

Beloved is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. I can't listen to it enough.
Airships is similarly fantastic and very chill.

i had VNV nations 2009 album and
i just couldn't get into it, i'm sorry. i know what they're trying to do but it just doesn't connect with me. this older stuff linked above is better, but because of the 2009 album i can't give them a vote.

i like do me bad things
    too bad they broke up

and because dk posted friggin megaupload links for Soil and "Pimp" sessions, im gonna spend like 20 minutes finding the youtube counterparts because when im looking at new bands im not quite up to downloading stuff through megaupload, and it would be a SHAME if people didin't get into them.

YouTube - SOIL & "PIMP" SESSIONS "Summer Goddess"
    YouTube - soil pimp live A I E gent jazz 2008
YouTube - SOIL & "PIMP" Sessions - The World Is Filled By...
YouTube - Soil & Pimp Sessions - We Want More!!!!!!

and i couldn't find the youtube counterparts so i guess that's why he uploaded them

    i dunnoo ill vote later

Man, Soil & "Pimp" are sweet. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the tracks from megaupload. But thanks for that one, DK!

VNV Nation is not my thing. At all. I get why people like stuff like that, though, but it's just not for me.

Soil and "Pimp" Sessions are really good. They remind me of another Japanese jazz/pop band called Ego-wrappin' (and The Gossip of Jaxx). I'll definitely get more into them.

They're all awesome! Soil and "pimp" is my favourite, but I knew them from before so they have an advantage in recognition.

VNV Nation reminds me of being 15 because I was obsessed.

    I vote them.
