Yeah, it is a good series. Rather depressing ending if you think about it, but it is a very good slice-of-life series.
I've read the manga, which is hilarious though almost impossible to read at times, such is your cringing at Satou's actions.

The manga is pretty great, especially towards the beginning. As usual, the anime is watered down as to be pointless.
I've been wanting to watch the anime if not exclusively for the reason that the OP is by ROUND TABLE and the ED is by Kenji Ootsuki. I've been waiting patiently for the box set to come out, and when it does, what do I do? I order Kiki's Delivery Service, Cowboy Bebop, and two Makoto Shinkai films. Figures.
I'll get around to watching/reading it eventually.
