People are judged based on their actions. How else would we judge them? When someone does something stupid in front of millions of people you don't think anyone should judge them for it? Mistake or not, it takes a lot of effort to do something like walk on stage, take the mic from someone, and make a speech. Several conscious decisions are involved there.
And it's not the only time he's done it!
So, there, that's what gives us the right to judge him. You do something stupid (multiple times especially) and people will believe you are stupid.
