Actually the release date is supposed to be anywhere from April 6 to the end of May. At least that's how Capcom made it sound. They did make clear that it would be out before summer.

Also note that....well, since Capcom pushed back all their games that weren't already coming out this month or next (due to several huge games coming out), they want to release one big game a season. SSFIV was meant for a spring release, with DR2 and Lost Planet 2 coming much later in the year.

And Depression Moon, the thug coming out and saying "Oh my god!" was actually only in the arcade game Final Fight, which was also released by Capcom. (hell SF2 never even had anybody coming out after the car was beaten up) The utterance was left in all arcade versions, however when ported to Nintendo systems, Capcom had to change it to "oh my car!" because they feared mentioning God would make some families mad. Same reasoning for the name changes from Damnd> Thrasher and Sodom> Katana.

As for SSFIV itself, it's looking really good. The only bad part is people complaining incessantly about a lot of the new Ultras involving some form of spin.

There's already some meaningful tweaks in the game such as Sagat's combo damage being nerfed, and his Tiger Uppercut damage being nerfed. However they added the super taunt Sagat had in A3 to his arsenal (the one that raises power on the next Tiger Uppercut slightly).

Cody, one of the new people in the game, got a couple changes from his appearance in Alpha 3. Most notably his V-ism dodge is gone and replaced by a move called the Zonk Knuckle (which is a punch that's kinda like Balrog's turn punch, where you hold the punch buttons). I think Lionx may know this but the reason they took the dodge out was because they found it to be too powerful, which is almost the same fate it befell in Alpha 3 during beta testing (his dodge in the beta A3 was a little too good. Capcom tweaked it down to the form it is now).

Dee Jay seems beastly so far. EX Sobat causes Focus crumple? Damn.

More thoughts later.
