omg leaves
I... I've never seen such beautiful fall colors in the flesh before. I mean, I *heard* that some places up north had nice leaves, but it was pretty much evergreen or brown back in Russvegas.
This tree was incredible in the early morning sun. It was a gradient down from sunlight through red, to green. It's almost all red now, though.
There's a line in a Jim croce song about "The gold of sunrise". This is a few hours later, but when you contrast yellow with blue, it looks awful sunrisey-gold.
I've always noticed that these trees with bright leaves and dark trunks looked particularly striking, but it took a while for me to realize that most trees seemed to have dark leaves and light trunks; probably for photosynthesis reasons!
The orange, yellow, and red is framed by the lingering green, kinda like when Miss America hands on her crown and sash. Look at how dark the wet, shadowed trunk is compared to the illuminated one in the background.
How many different reds can you count?
Even all earth tones can contrast. The yellow in these water oak leaves stands out from both the tan brick and the tan dirt.

I like the fourth picture. Remind me of a sea of blood.
