I think that someone who likes Azumanga Daioh would like Ichigo Mashimaro, too! Ichigo Mashimaro isn't a typical loli show: it's cute, but it has good humor, and the strawberry girls don't look or act like generic anime girls.

True beauty exists in things that last only for a moment.
Current Mood: And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe. Maybe this year will be better than the last. I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself. To hold on to these moments as they pass...
And then watch The Girl who Leapt Through Time, which is better.
A lot of these recommendations are making me 'smh'. I guess it's better to watch all the middling stuff before moving on to the truly great stuff, because once you watch a certain 'level' of show, everything 'beneath' it seems rote.
Despite saying that just now, I would recommend you check out Dragon Ball Kai.
The charm was just lost on you, green! Ichigo Mashimaro doesn't have the in-your-face or cued comedy that I think of when I remember most anime I've seen - like Azumanga Daioh. I guess it's more perceptive, since the girls always look normal and do boring, realistic things. Very simplistic show.
Still, it's a small leap from Azumanga Daioh to Ichigo Mashimaro. Both are about cute, funny girls being girls. And a pedo.

LoL I doubt anyone these days would be very into Moldiver. Even back then it was just an amusing distraction. I loved it. But there's not much meat to it. Just a goof-around superhero thing. Though that reminds me. Anyone that enjoys crazy random animes and superhero/mecha spoofs would probably enjoy Project A-ko, if they could get over how old it looks :] Alas, a lot of old animes need to be remastered like Miyazaki's marvelous collection
Edit: I think I'll finally watch Neon Genesis Evangelion too... I avoided it like the plague back in its hayday. I hate hype and usually avoid the most popular animes. They never tend to be like the coming of Christ the way people tend to rave. Probably why I don't watch much newer anime. Everyone creams over everything these days
Oh! My Goddess is really good btw, probably want to watch it with the lady though :]

Haha I apologize for the earlier spoil Momiji, very sorry
Hmmm, I shall check this out then.
I will be on my guard my dear Freya, thankfully I have a handy dandy mental eraser.
Wow I wasnt expecting so many replies, haha, I've written a list of the ones I think are interesting (siggh, me and my judging an anime by its title again) and will look into them after I've had my fill of Inuyasha. Which has actually been pretty good so far, the fillers aren't so bad (so far) and the plot twists have been quite nice.
That, and Barasui has a sense of humor I have yet to see from anyone else, which is considerably more prominent in the manga.
Also, Wolf Kanno mentioned Kare Kano (also known as His and Her Circumstances). Please do watch that before you move onto other Gainax shows.
I agree that anything by Miyazaki is usually pretty good.
I would also say Sailor Moon, but I have a feeling that it is not your kind of show! :S
So here's a list I think you might enjoy:
Amatsuki
Baccano!
Chrno Crusade
Code Geass
Cowboy Bebop
Elfen Lied
Escaflowne
Eva
Fate Stay/Night
Full Metal Panic!
Ga-Rei -Zero-
Gankutsuou
Ghost Hound
Kaze no Stigma
Kekkaishi
Kyou Kara Maoh!
Lovely Complex
Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
Natsume Yuujinchou
Ouran High School Host Club
RahXephon (totally not an Eva rip-off)
Rental Magica
Shounen Onmyouji
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Welcome to the NHK!
Witch Hunter Robin
Zegapain
I dunno exactly what genres you like so I just gave a list of a variety of things.
Kodomo no Omocha (or Kodocha)
That reminds me, I never did finish watching that
I can't believe I almost forgot this...
Lupin the III

I am ashamed for forgetting.
Rozen Maiden Träumend is really good too, and has one of my favorite opening songs.
I'm re-watching Black Cat. Everyone should watch it with me *Hugs avatar/sig*
