Whats Desert Punk about? Sounds interesting

and Vyk: Whats that anime you're talking about? Any good?
Are you asking about Blood+? Or something else I talked about? Blood+ is about a girl with amnesia who turns out to be a vampire and her presence ends up dragging her family into a "monster"ous conspiracy. Its one of the more serious and dramatic animes I've seen that doesn't go over the top or get boring (to me). One of the only animes I've found gripping at times (though I have to admit I only saw half of it back in the day. I'll be re-watching it all the way through here soon)

Wow I was the other way around, I hated the show. I thought it was horrible but loved the movie.
We seem to disagree a lot, but its never very person. I think we are destined to be frienemies! :P

and blood+ was a sequel, not a prequel (the movie takes place in the 60's, the show can be considered present day)

edit: THAT IS if you even want to bother saying they're not set in alternate universes alltogether. marvel does this with comoics, they reimagine a whole story. i think that's what happened here.
I'm used to this aspect when OVAs come into play. Actually quite common in Japan. So I'd be completely willing to accept this. Not that it really matters either way. Still to each their own I guess. I should probably watch TLV again, my opinion may have changed over the years

Basically, Desert Punk is set in a post-apocalyptic world where it's just all desert. There are several Oasises, which serve as governments too. The rest of the people live here, or work as mercenaries. The main character is nicknamed Sunabōzu and something about being a demon of the desert for his excellence as a merc. Anyway there's a bunch of recurring characters, and it's mostly action and comedy. But I enjoyed it ^_^

Back when I was more into anime, now I barely watch any, but these are my top faves, all have had some impact on me:

Chrno Crusade - really good, got drawn right into it, and was fantastic all the way to the end

Nana - I found this really true to life at the time, although it might be a bit girly for guys

Sailor Moon - childhood classic memory, although I would recconmend the manga over the anime

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 - another early one, but always liked the futuristic setting and robots etc, and the characters were memorable/likable

Gunslinger Girl - this one was different but there was something sweet behind it all, might watch it again to see if I missed something, coz something didn't quite make sense...

I could recconmend others, but these were some of my faves

"This the outro, I was gonna put it at the beginning
But this is what I say the moment after I'm winning
    Thank you, Ultimate Victory"

I have to add D.Gray-Man to my list now. I got the first manga book and have watched about 18 episodes of the anime, it's really good imo.

Because I'm one hell of a butler.

If InuYasha and D.Gray-Man are what's tickling your fancy right now, then you really aren't ready for anything that I would seriously recommend. Have you watched anything from the multitude of things that people have recommended? No one even mentioned D.Gray-Man.
